My second trip to Japan with more people this time. Favourite place in the world.
Managed to see more places, visit more temples and shrines, and eat more food.
I love seeing the crazy neon signs and the chaos of the city. Always nice to stand on the bridge and watch everyone going about their day or hanging out with friends at night.
I love the history and the architecture of the castle. Always nice to walk around and see the different buildings and the grounds. This time we went into the castle and saw the different rooms and the exhibits.
This shrine was near our hotel and we walked past it every day. Always nice to see the different buildings and the grounds. Peaceful area away from the city streets.
Got to Fushimi Inari at around 6am, before everyone else arrived. Was very hot this time of year, but worth going. Walked to the top by myself, but got to meet a few people on the way up and down, other people travelling solo, and sharing some stories. Hard walk up in the heat, but worth it.
Another shrine in Kyoto that was a bit more public and touristy, lots more people around and the area was busier. Was good to see the difference at day and night, and all the lanterns lit up made it look like a magical place.
First day we visited the gardens, and it was very quiet and peaceful. Very different to the other shrines and temples we visited. Was good to ease into the trip by visiting the shrine then walking around the gardens.
