Spent 2 weeks in Raleigh, being super productive and hanging out with good people.

New friends Pet friends. Was nice walking around the trail with Beanie. Good to get out of the house and stretch the legs and think about projects.

City lights from the plane The view from the plane was pretty impressive at night.

Brief weekend trip to New York. Unexpected to do it alone but the harsh snow storm meant I didn’t have much choice.

Glad I went and saw the sights but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Bright billboards and crowds filling Times Square after dark

Times Square at night was pretty impressive, but I couldn’t spend a lot of time there in the cold.

Snow-covered cityscape seen through a hotel window

Spent a fair amount of time in the hotel room, working on projects in the warmth. Did a fair bit of walking around the city and seeing the sights, but the cold made it difficult to enjoy.

Bethesda Fountain Hitting up Bethesda Fountain was a highlight as a fan of John Wick.

Ramen Found a good ramen spot that wasn’t packed. Felt like being back in Japan.

The exterior of St Patrick's Cathedral

Spent a few days in London with work. Managed to get to one of our partner spots for food and drinks.

Good perk of the job that we have some great food and drinks partners.

My second trip to Japan with more people this time. Favourite place in the world.

Managed to see more places, visit more temples and shrines, and eat more food.

Dotonbori I love seeing the crazy neon signs and the chaos of the city. Always nice to stand on the bridge and watch everyone going about their day or hanging out with friends at night.

Osaka Castle I love the history and the architecture of the castle. Always nice to walk around and see the different buildings and the grounds. This time we went into the castle and saw the different rooms and the exhibits.

Shrine in Kyoto This shrine was near our hotel and we walked past it every day. Always nice to see the different buildings and the grounds. Peaceful area away from the city streets.

Fushimi Inari Shrine Got to Fushimi Inari at around 6am, before everyone else arrived. Was very hot this time of year, but worth going. Walked to the top by myself, but got to meet a few people on the way up and down, other people travelling solo, and sharing some stories. Hard walk up in the heat, but worth it.

Another Shrine in Kyoto Another shrine in Kyoto that was a bit more public and touristy, lots more people around and the area was busier. Was good to see the difference at day and night, and all the lanterns lit up made it look like a magical place.

Meiji Jingu Gardens First day we visited the gardens, and it was very quiet and peaceful. Very different to the other shrines and temples we visited. Was good to ease into the trip by visiting the shrine then walking around the gardens.
